Michael Lenze: the physiotherapist behind be2move

Over 30 years of treating patients, a fascination with muscle chains and the old idea of building a rocking chair one day. The result is be2move.

Who is behind be2move?

be2move was developed by Michael Lenze, a physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience and his own practice in Bad Waldsee since 2000, together with experts in myoreflex therapy. The device is not a product of the fitness industry. It grew out of daily work with patients. Be 2 move GmbH is based in Bad Waldsee in Upper Swabia, Germany.

  • Born in 1967 and raised in Karlsruhe.
  • Studied to become a secondary school teacher in mathematics, sport and physics.
  • Trained as a physiotherapist at the rehabilitation hospital in Karlsbad-Langensteinbach.
  • Self-employed with his own practice in Bad Waldsee since 2000.
  • Further training in manual therapy, acupuncture massage according to Penzel and myoreflex therapy according to Dr Kurt Mosetter in Konstanz.

How did be2move come about?

It all began with a fascination for the method known as "Kraft in der Dehnung" (strength through stretching) by Dr Kurt Mosetter. The exercises Michael Lenze gave his patients as homework brought visible progress in mobility in his practice. The more often he used them, the clearer the gap became: covering the different muscle chains required either many separate devices or an exercise circuit that fits into no practice.

The idea: a single device that combines all the essential exercises and makes the circuit of machines unnecessary. Added to that was an old thought from his student days, half in jest: "One day you will build a rocking chair." Both came together in be2move, a training device with three positions, whose rocking position now takes care of regeneration.

From graph paper to the finished device

As a hobby carpenter whose father was a professor of gas turbine development, Michael Lenze started with the simplest tools: graph paper, pencil, ruler and compass. The first design took shape on paper. Together with a carpenter friend, he refined it until frame, positions and guides worked together so that all 20 exercises function on one square metre.

The result is patent pending (DE 10 2021 122 682 A1) and was awarded the iENA silver medal 2025 (International Trade Fair for Ideas, Inventions and New Products, Nuremberg). be2move is manufactured as a training device according to EN ISO 20957-1.

What matters to us

  • Mechanism instead of promises. We describe what the device does: it guides the movement and actively trains muscle length. What that achieves in an individual case is decided in practice, not by advertising copy.
  • From practice, for practice. The physiotherapy practice is our first audience, because that is where the device is used in treatment every day.
  • One device instead of twenty. Less floor space, lower investment, less explaining. All the details are on the device page.
